Residential
Hot Water Systems
Solar energy
can provide renewable and inexpensive
hot water for all of your homes’ domestic
water use. The solar thermal
plates absorb the sun’s energy
transferring the heat into water
as it moves through a tubing system. This
water is then put into a storage
tank installed separately from
your existing water heater. The
storage tank assures a consistent
flow of hot water even on cloudy
days.
When solar fluid
in the collector is heated by the
sun, it is pumped through the heat-transfer
appliance, which then heats the
water in your storage tank. The
solar fluid then circulates back
up to the collector, where it gets
reheated by the sun. The whole
process automatically continues
as long as the sun heats the collector.
When there is little or no sun,
a backup heating element self-activates
to provide ample hot water for
your home.

Swimming pools
are also heated by solar thermal
systems. A
diverting valve with temperature
control is installed after the
pool filter to transfer pool water
up through the solar panels when
the temperature drops below the
set point. When the pool reaches
the desired temperature, the diverting
valve simply bypasses the solar
panels. Using solar panels on roof
tops for water heating can keep
your roof and attic cooler, helping
with your air conditioning costs. The
system requires no additional equipment
and utilizes your current pool
pump.
We can install solar hot water
systems in your new or existing
home for your entire domestic and
pool heating needs so call today

and help the environment.
